Watching from Heaven

Sep 14, 2025    Pastor Chris Eshleman

In this powerful exploration of the Book of Revelation, we're invited to shift our perspective from earthly struggles to a heavenly viewpoint. The vision of John, exiled on Patmos, becomes a gateway for us to understand God's ultimate plan amidst persecution and suffering. We're reminded that the Lamb who was slain - Jesus Christ - is worthy to open the scroll of God's redemptive history. This paradoxical image of strength through sacrifice challenges us to embrace our own crosses, knowing that victory often comes through apparent defeat. As we witness the throne room of heaven, with its awe-inspiring worship and divine judgments, we're encouraged to endure present trials with patient faith. The message resonates deeply in our current world, where believers may face ridicule, marginalization, or worse. Yet, like John, we're called to 'come up here' and view our circumstances from God's eternal perspective. This heavenly vantage point doesn't negate our grief or pain, but it infuses our struggles with hope and purpose, knowing that all wrongs will ultimately be made right in God's perfect timing.
