Come and See

What does it actually look like to make God known in our everyday lives? That question sits at the heart of this message, which draws us into one of the most compelling passages in the Gospel of John. We explore the chain reaction of faith that unfolded when the very first disciples encountered Jesus, and what we find is both surprising and deeply encouraging. Each of those first followers came to Jesus differently. Andrew came through the preaching of John the Baptist. Peter came through his brother's personal testimony. Philip received a direct invitation from Jesus himself. Nathaniel came through a friend's theological explanation. No two paths were the same, yet all of them led to the same person. The recurring phrase that weaves through the whole narrative is the simple but profound invitation: come and see. This was not a polished evangelism strategy or a rehearsed argument. It was the natural overflow of people who had been genuinely changed by an encounter with Jesus and could not help but want others to experience the same thing. The spiritual lesson here is both convicting and freeing. We do not need to have all the answers. We do not need a theology degree or a perfectly crafted argument. What we need is the willingness to share what we have personally discovered and to invite those around us to investigate Jesus for themselves. That invitation, rooted in authentic relationship and lived experience, carries a power that no amount of information alone ever could.
