Gregg & Kathryn Donley

Gregg and Kathryn serve communities in the Middle East and Eastern Europe.
Gregg and Kathryn joined WEC in 1988 and have been faithfully serving ever since.
**We try to keep the details of Gregg's ministry generic since most of the countries and communities he works with are hostile to Christianity.
Gregg and many of the believers in these areas are in real physical danger.

Family, Education & Early Years

Gregg and Kathryn Donley have built a life rooted in faith, family, and service. They met while attending Prairie Bible Institute (now Prairie College) in Alberta, Canada, where they both graduated in 1988. Their shared calling to missions began there and has continued to grow ever since. Kathryn later pursued nursing and earned her Associate's Degree in Nursing (RN) from Montgomery County Community College in 2015.

Gregg was born in Norristown, Pennsylvania, and grew up in the nearby towns of Trappe and Rahns. He attended Perkiomen Valley High School. Kathryn spent her early years in Ohio and completed high school in Ontario, Canada.
Together, they have raised four sons, who are now grown and married. They are blessed with four daughters-in-law, three granddaughters, and are joyfully anticipating the arrival of their first grandson in August 2025. Their family continues to be a central part of their lives and ministry, even as they serve in some of the most spiritually and physically challenging regions of the world.

Gregg and Kathryn love Arab food, especially fresh bread from local bakeries and chicken shawarma from nearby restaurants in the Middle East.

Stories of God's Guidance and Provision

One memorable story is from around 2004 when they were on furlough with their four young sons. Gregg was sick, and they had only two $5 bills and an empty gas tank. After giving both $5 bills during church offerings, a missionary couple unexpectedly gave them $50, which they needed for gas.

Humorous Story from the Field

Gregg was once called in by secret police for an "interview" that lasted four days. Despite attempts to make him uncomfortable, he shared the Gospel with them. They eventually renewed all their visas after paying fines.

Favorite Verses

Kathryn’s favorite Bible story is from Acts 3 and 4, where Peter and John heal a lame beggar and boldly proclaim the Gospel.
Gregg’s favorite verses are from Philippians chapters 2 & 3, emphasizing the theology of God taking on the form of a servant and the call to "Press on."
