The teens are offering FREE babysitting this Saturday, December 2 from 4-9pm at Mountain View so parents can go Christmas shopping. We'll take kids of any age, but parents need to confirm with Steve Karabatos by email (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) or by call or text (610-212-1996). Parents should pack a dinner for their children.

Every November and December, members of Mountain View nominate qualified men to serve as deacons. (The 2018 Deacon Board will be announced at our congregational meeting on January 28th.) The deacons are entrusted with the direct handling of the physical and financial matters of the church. If you are an MVC member, please pick up your ballot envelope at the lobby table. Place your completed ballot in the offering basket or give it to an elder or deacon by Sunday, December 31st. (Please note that there will be no Sunday morning service on Christmas Eve.)

Winter Blast is a weekend retreat for 7-12-year-olds held at Victory Valley Camp in Zionsville. This year, children at MVC have two opportunities to attend with other kids from the chapel: January 19th-21st and February 9-11th. If five or more kids sign up, we get $10 off the cost of each camper. Visit the Victory Valley Camp website for more information and to register. (Please list Mountain View Chapel as the group you are going with.) There are also Winter Blast brochures on the lobby table. A Bible study called “7 Views of Jesus,” led by Pastor Andrew, will be held on Wednesday evenings, beginning November 1, from 7-8:30pm in the Classic Building. This study will cover perspectives of Jesus from other religions and how and why they are wrong. Please sign up at the lobby table if you would like to attend; the class is limited to 15 people. If you have any questions, please see Pastor Andrew.

The Women's Ministry is hosting a Coffee & Dessert Night on Friday, November 10th, at 7pm. It will be a time of thanksgiving and fellowship with friends. Please bring a dessert to share and sign up at the lobby table if you would like to attend.

KW is for 4-year-olds through 4th grade and is held in the gym. Children in this age group are dismissed following the offertory and remain in Kidz Worship until 10:40, when Sunday school teachers take them to their classes in the Educational Wing. Those in 5th-7th grades are to leave the morning service at 10:35 and go to the gym to wait for their teachers to take them to class. After the service, all classes return to the gym, where parents can pick up their children.

On the 5th Sunday of the month, we take a second offering for our Benevolence Fund. This fund is used to minister to others when needs arise throughout the year. This month, we will be collecting money for the victims of the hurricanes in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico, and sending it to Samaritan's Purse, a wonderful organization lead by Franklin Graham. Samaritan's Purse is already on the ground in each of these areas helping the victims.

George Ross, our Missions Committee coordinator, recently returned from a trip to Texas. If anyone is interested in going to Texas or Florida to help, one-week trips are available. The cost is approximately $400-600 including airfare, ground transportation, room and food. If you can't go but would like to contribute, monetary offerings can be made to a Houston church (vetted by George) to sponsor rebuilding of homes. For more information, contact George at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or 610-469-0351. You can also visit the North American Mission Board website at namb.net, to view dates and locations for volunteer work.

We will have a Covenant Membership signing on Sunday, October 29th, during the morning service. If you would like to become a Covenant Member of Mountain View Chapel or have any questions about becoming a member, please contact the church office or see Pastor Chris.

Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday this year so we won't have a morning service that day. Instead, we'll have a Christmas Eve play at 7pm. There will be no youth Group and no child care that night.
