This Sunday, December 31, we will be taking a second offering for our Benevolence Fund, which is used to minister to others when needs arise throughout the year. It’s taken when a month has a fifth Sunday.

Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday this year so we won’t have a morning service that day. Instead, we’ll have a Christmas Eve play, called “A Baby Changes Everything,” at 7pm. There will be no youth group and no child care that night.  We will take our normal Sunday offering that evening.

Starting January 13th, the Women’s Ministry will be meeting every other Saturday morning at 7:30am in the Classic Building. They will be studying “Entrusted” by Beth Moore, a study that will encourage you to share Christ with others and explore how to be a mentor to future generations. Study books are $15. If you’re interested in joining this women’s study, please sign up at the lobby table or contact Jen Rhoads at 610-469-1112 for more information.

During the month of December, we will be handing out the 2018 Offering Envelopes in the lobby before and after the Sunday morning service. If you currently have 2017 envelopes, your name will be listed with your envelope number. If you don't currently have envelopes, you are welcome to sign up to receive them in 2018. If you have any questions, please contact the church office. You can also set up online donations to the Chapel at our website through SimpleGive.

Starting Sunday, December 3, you can send Christmas cards to the others at the Chapel, no postage required! Just drop your cards in the box on the lobby table labeled "MVC Mailbox." The cards will then be sorted for you into each person's manila folder, found in crates on our Christmas table in the lobby. If you don't see your name on a manila folder, please contact the church office.

Thank you to everyone who filled shoeboxes with toys, hygiene items and school supplies to give to needy children via Operation Christmas Child. Together, you contributed 357 boxes! And, thank you to Steve and Connie Young for organizing the collection of shoeboxes at MVC and dropping off the boxes at the collection center.

The teens are offering FREE babysitting this Saturday, December 2 from 4-9pm at Mountain View so parents can go Christmas shopping. We'll take kids of any age, but parents need to confirm with Steve Karabatos by email (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) or by call or text (610-212-1996). Parents should pack a dinner for their children.

Every November and December, members of Mountain View nominate qualified men to serve as deacons. (The 2018 Deacon Board will be announced at our congregational meeting on January 28th.) The deacons are entrusted with the direct handling of the physical and financial matters of the church. If you are an MVC member, please pick up your ballot envelope at the lobby table. Place your completed ballot in the offering basket or give it to an elder or deacon by Sunday, December 31st. (Please note that there will be no Sunday morning service on Christmas Eve.)

Winter Blast is a weekend retreat for 7-12-year-olds held at Victory Valley Camp in Zionsville. This year, children at MVC have two opportunities to attend with other kids from the chapel: January 19th-21st and February 9-11th. If five or more kids sign up, we get $10 off the cost of each camper. Visit the Victory Valley Camp website for more information and to register. (Please list Mountain View Chapel as the group you are going with.) There are also Winter Blast brochures on the lobby table. A Bible study called “7 Views of Jesus,” led by Pastor Andrew, will be held on Wednesday evenings, beginning November 1, from 7-8:30pm in the Classic Building. This study will cover perspectives of Jesus from other religions and how and why they are wrong. Please sign up at the lobby table if you would like to attend; the class is limited to 15 people. If you have any questions, please see Pastor Andrew.
