Thank you to Deb D’Orsaneo and Michele Fries and their team for organizing our Luncheon last Sunday and to all those who helped with set up, clean up, and making food to share with all the folks!

The following Board Members were reconfirmed at the Congregational Meeting...Elders - Nick D’Orsaneo, Blake Whitcombe, and Jack Yorgey, and Board Secretary, Matt Yorgey. The following Deacons were voted onto the 2013 MVC Board…Al Cinciripino, Chip Conrad, Mark Dierolf, Gary Dye, Mark Giorgio, and Rob Kurtz.

Joe Kulas will be 93 years old on February 8th and we thought it would be nice to have a card shower for him. If you would like to send Joe a birthday card, there is a basket on the table in the Lobby.We will be collecting cards until February 10th.

Last Sunday, Mel Zohe and Doris Harris were presented with a plaque and tickets to Sight & Sound in honor of their years of service here at the Chapel. Mel and Doris would like to thank the Chapel for this special recognition and are very appreciative of the gifts given to them.

Youth Group Super Bowl(ing) is the first parent/teen game this year and uses the parents and teens as teammates competing to try to match the Super Bowl score. (High scores are good for bragging rights and such, but sometimes a better, lower score is the key to winning prizes.) We have reserved 5 lanes at Jay Lanes in Douglassville, just down the hill from Mountain View, for 1:00 PM today. The cost is $10 per pair of Teens can come to church, go have lunch, then come bowling. We will be finished by 3 PM at the latest, after which the teens have the rest of the day off to enjoy the Super Bowl with family and friends. The following adjustments to MVC's Missions Program were voted on and approved at the Congregational Meeting last Sunday…
1. George Hege and MACC ministries will be dropped (freeing up $256/month).
2. Our present missionaries will receive the following raises in support: Rob Watt (American Liebenzell Mission in Guam) to $1750/month (up from $1350/month) and Alan Heathcote (Biblical Ministries Worldwide in South Africa) to $500/month (up from $326/month).
3. We will be supporting new missionaries, Dave & Mindy Nelson (Crossing Cultures International), at $500/month.

There are many items on the Lost and Found Shelves in the hallway across from the Nursery...Bibles, food containers, clothes, glasses, books, etc. There are also cookie containers on the shelves that were left over from the reception held in the Gym. If you would be interested in hosting an inner-city child age 6-12 in your home for one week in July or August 2013 through a program called the “Fresh Air Fund”, please sign up at the table in the Lobby and take one of the brochures for more information. There is a meeting scheduled for next Sunday in the Library after the Morning Service to share more details about the program. Please contact Jen Rhoads for further information. 

MVC Volleyball will be meeting the first and third Friday of each month starting in January. They are opening up Volleyball to anyone over 16 years old who would like to come out and learn to play. They are always looking for new players so feel free to bring along a friend.  They meet next at 7PM in the Chapel Gym February 15th.

MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) meet the third Wednesday of every month from 9-11:15AM here at the Chapel. If you are the mother of a child between the ages of birth and Kindergarten, they would love to have you join them! There are some MOPS flyers on the table in the Lobby with more information.

The MOPS group is in need of Moppet Helpers to care for children ranging from infants thru Kindergarten while the mothers have their meeting. Meetings are held at the Chapel from September to May. They meet once a month every 3rd Wednesday morning from 9-11:15AM. If you can help out with the children in ANY or ALL meetings, your time would be greatly appreciated. Contact Kim Keim if you are interested in helping with this ministry.

▪ MVC's Awana Program is held every Wednesday at 7PM! If you would like your children to be involved in this exciting program, bring them to the Gym on Wednesday evenings! The different departments are...Puggles (2 & 3 year olds), Cubbies (4 year olds through Pre-Kindergarten), Sparks (Kindergarten through 2nd Grade), and T & T (3rd Grade through 6th Grade).

If you have any old cell phones at home that you don’t need anymore, we are collecting them in a box on the Lobby table. The cell phones will be sent to a cell phone collection company who will then reimburse us. Those monies will be put into our Benevolence Fund which is used to minister to others when needs arise throughout the year.  

The Chapel has a support group for people with Life-Altering Illnesses and their Caretakers which meets every other Thursday of the month at 2 and 7PM. If you would like more information, please contact Mel Zohe.

Children’s Church is for children 4 years old through 4th grade. Children should sit in the Sanctuary with their parents until they are dismissed to go to Children's Church after the Offertory. 5th-7th Graders should leave the Sanctuary at 10:35 to meet their teacher in the Gym for Sunday School.

Miller-Keystone Blood Center will be holding a Blood Drive in the Chapel parking lot on January 17th from 3-7PM. Anyone 17 & up can give blood. Any questions, contact Marty Moser or see the sign-up sheet on the table in the Lobby. There is a great need for blood donations during this bad flu season so if you are healthy, please sign up to donate!

Men’s Ministry - The next Men's Ministry study will be called "Deliver Us from Evil” and will be lead by Mark Dierolf. This study will begin on Saturday, January 12th, at 7AM in the Library. 

▪ There will be another Men’s Ministry study starting on January 9th called “How to Raise an Adolescent”. Rob Kurtz will be leading this study which will run every Wednesday during Awana from 7-8:30PM in the Classic Building.

MVC Volleyball will be meeting the first and third Friday of each month starting in January. They are opening up Volleyball to anyone over 16 years old who would like to come out and learn to play. MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) meet the third Wednesday of every month from 9-11:15AM here at the Chapel. If you are the mother of a child between the ages of birth and Kindergarten, they would love to have you join them!  There are some MOPS flyers on the table in the Lobby with more information.

The MOPS group is in need of Moppet Helpers to care for children ranging from infants thru Kindergarten while the mothers have their meeting. Meetings are held at the Chapel from September to May. They meet once a month every 3rd Wednesday morning from 9-11:15AM. If you can help out with the children in ANY or ALL meetings, your time would be greatly appreciated. Christmas Cards - In December, there will be a box on the Lobby table labeled MVC Mailbox where you can put your Christmas cards for people at the Chapel.  Everyone will have a manila folder with their name on it that will hold Christmas cards addressed to them. The folders are kept in the crates on the “Christmas Table” in the corner of the Lobby. Simply drop your cards into the MVC Mailbox and your cards will be sorted into the manila folders for you. The MOPS group is in need of Moppet Helpers to care for children ranging from infants thru Kindergarten while the mothers have their meeting. Meetings are held at the Chapel from September to May. They meet once a month every 3rd Wednesday morning from 9-11:15AM. If you can help out with the children in ANY or ALL meetings, your time would be greatly appreciated. The cell phones will be sent to a cell phone collection company who will then reimburse us. 4 yr. olds thru Kindergarten (Beginners) meet in one half of the gym from 10:40 until the end of the service…
1st & 2nd Grade (Primary) meet in one half of the gym from 10:40 until the end of the service…
3rd & 4th Grade (Middler) meet in the Lower Level of the Classic Building from 10:40 until the end of the service…
5th, 6th, & 7th Grade meet in the Library from 10:40 until the end of the service.

▪ Come visit the Mountain View Chapel Library in the Classic Building for some great reading!  Books, audio books, DVDs, and videos can all be signed out for a month at a time. Donna Wismer is in the Library after the Sunday Morning service and on Wednesday evening from 3-6PM.

▪ Don’t forget to check the LOST AND FOUND shelves that are along the wall between the bathrooms. Any items not claimed after eight weeks will be discarded or donated to the MVC Youth Group for their annual Yard Sale.

▪ In our desire to keep the Sunday morning service running smoothly, any Announcements that you would like to make or have made by Gary Dye, must be submitted to the church office by Friday noon.

Offertory Ministry - If you like to sing or if you play a musical instrument, we would love to have you be a part of our Offertory Ministry on Sunday mornings.  All ages and level of musical ability can serve in this capacity.  If you are interested, please contact Neal Hartranft or Janine Leavitt.

▪ Would you be interested in purchasing a CD of Sunday’s sermon?  You may order one at the table in the lobby each Sunday. CDs are $1 each and you may put your money in the “tab envelope” with your name on it in the black box if you have ordered before. If you have not ordered before, the following Sunday you will have a “tab envelope” with your name on it.  Your CD order will be in front of your “tab envelope.” the Sunday after you order.
