The Covenant Membership signing will now be held on Sunday, October 20, during the morning service. This year’s Father and Son Weekend will again be held at Camp Conquest in Denver, PA on October 18-20th. If swimming, fishing, a challenge course, giant swings, shooting, axe-throwing and more sounds like fun, you don’t want to miss this weekend. The cost is $50 a person. Operation Christmas Child season is here! Bless a needy child this Christmas by filling a shoebox with toys, hygiene items and school supplies. You can also participate in this ministry by donating individual items in the box under the display table in the lobby or giving money to help cover the cost of sending the shoeboxes. The Men’s Ministry is continuing their “33 The Series” DVD study starting Saturday, September 7. This study provides a vision for manhood as modeled by Jesus in his 33 years on earth. It will meet every other Saturday in Room 203 at 7am and is for all men 18 years and older. There is a small cost for this Session 4 workbook that goes along with the study. September 1st is Sunday School Promotion Sunday. We will be promoting our 1st, 3rd and 5th grade Sunday school classes to their new departments during the morning service. We will also be recognizing all of our Sunday school classes with their teachers and helpers, and our nursery workers as well. Kidz Worship will restart the following Sunday, September 8th.

This fall, the Women’s Ministry will be studying “All Things New” by Kelly Minter, a curriculum based on 2 Corinthians. Jen Rhoads will be leading a study on Sunday evenings at 6pm in the Classic building, beginning September 8; and Joanna Watkins will be leading a study on Wednesday mornings in the Educational Wing, starting September 11. Workbooks are $15. Childcare will be available for the Wednesday study. A study for young women ages 16-24, led by M. E. Gutridge, may also be held if there is interest. MVC will be sending a team back to New Bern, North Carolina to assist with Baptists on Mission’s hurricane relief efforts. The trip will take place October 6-12th and is open to all those who turned 15 by July 1 of this year. The cost is $250 for adults and $150 for those 15-18. An informational meeting will be held next Sunday after the morning service in Room 203.
