Ministries At Our Church

The ministries of Mountain View Chapel are driven by a desire to give everyone solid biblical direction for life, and for all ages. On this page, you will find many of the ministries of Mountain View Chapel. However, this is not the full list of our ministries, please be sure to view our calendar for a full list of scheduled events, small groups, Bible studies, ministries, and much more.

There is something for everyone. We hope you find a place to grow and to serve with us.

“Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed” - 2 Timothy 2:15. AWANA helps churches and parents work together to develop spiritually strong children and youth who faithfully follow Jesus Christ. Our programs offer a proven approach for evangelizing and discipling kids in the church and community.

The AWANA pledge is that all children and youth throughout the world will come to know, love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ.

AWANA at our church is a 90-minute weekly club program from 7-8:30pm for preschool through sixth grade where children have fun playing age-appropriate games, memorizing Bible verses in an organized topical system and participating in large group Bible teaching.

Vacation Bible School

Every year your children can enjoy a fun-filled week of summer fun at our Vacation Bible School. Activities include games, crafts, singing and Bible teaching. All of this, while having fun learning about Jesus. Vacation Bible School is open to all children, from 4 years old to 6th grade. Details about the current year's program will become available some time in late Spring of each year on our website. Themes we have held in the past are: Son Treasure, Son West, and Sonrise National Park.

Youth Group

Teenage years are crucial for faith development, personal growth, beginning to make important life decisions, and becoming secure in who we are as people. At Mountain View Chapel, our goal in Youth Ministries is to help teens focus their lives on Christ as He molds them into young adults. Teenage years can be fun, frightening, confusing, challenging and rewarding times, and we want to be with you through it all. We want to create a place where you feel comfortable being yourself, as free as possible from peer pressure or the need to meet others' expectations.

Our Youth Group meets every Sunday night at 6 PM for any student between 7th and 12th grade. During the summer, the students have the opportunity to participate in week-long trips to Harvey Cedars Bible Conference and The Pittsburgh Project.

Bible Studies

Adult small groups, pastoral classes, and Bible studies meet throughout the week at several locations in various forms in our church. These groups help build relationship amongst our church, and help people connect with God through prayer, worship, and Bible study. We have a variety of men's and women's groups, and they are all open door and welcome visitors. They are also a great place to meet new people and create new friendships. Conversations are very open with much group discussion. Be sure to check out our calendar of events for upcoming Bible studies.

Ladies Ministry

The MVC Ladies Ministry is a group of women committed to growing in Christ and with each other. We are sisters that desire to learn more about our Savior while strengthening one another in this thing called Life. We meet every other Sunday evening in the MVC Classic Building at 6 p.m. for a time of study & prayer. Ladies of all ages are welcome!

Men's Ministry

The Mountain View Chapel Men's Ministry is a ministry dedicated to the Biblical development of men in their roles as husbands and fathers. Many opportunities are offered to the men of Mountain View Chapel to allow them to grow stronger in their faith. "Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." Proverbs 27:17 (NASB)

Meal Ministry

A simple but impactful way that we serve one another at Mountain View Chapel is through our Meal Ministry. Cooking and delivering a hot meal is a tangible way that we can show the love of Christ to our members and attendees in their time of need. If you're interested in blessing others through this ministry, please contact Amy Galaska via This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Young Adults - Pathfinders

Pathfinders is a young singles ministry open to anyone who is currently a senior in high school up through age 25. Our focus is to become the type of single Christians the Apostle Paul describes in 1 Corinthians 7:32-35 whose concerns are about the Lord's affairs rather than divided between the Lord and a spouse.

1 Corinthians 7:32-35
(32) But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord: (33) But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife. (34) There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband. (35) And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.

Pathfinders meets 7:00 PM every Tuesday night at the Mountain View Chapel Classic Building. The class usually wraps up by 8:30 PM.

Sunday School

We offer Sunday school classes for all ages. Adult and junior/senior high classes meet at 8:45am on Sunday mornings.

During our Sunday Morning Service we offer Kids Worship and children's Sunday school. Our Kidz Worship program provides song time and story time for Sunday School-aged children. Children are dismissed from the sanctuary before the Praise and Worship segment of the service. They will then be dismissed directly from Kidz Worship to their respective Sunday School classes. Our children's Sunday school program, for those 2 years old through 7th grade, is designed to teach young lives and hearts about who God is and that He loves and cares for each one of His children regardless of their age or size. Sunday School takes place during the service, all other children, teenagers and adults are asked to attend the Sunday Morning Service in the sanctuary.

We work hard to make sure that your children come to a safe, fun environment. When your children enter our church on Sunday morning, they will experience solid Biblical learning, fellowship with peers, and teachers passionate about teaching the truths of Christ. Our dedicated volunteer staff strives each week to guarantee Sunday mornings are the best hour of the week!

Kidz Worship

Worship is more than just singing. It's about living our everyday lives in obedience to the Lord. In Kidz Worship, children from ages 4 through 9 learn about God, Christ, and the Christian faith in a number of ways. Kidz Worship includes:

-- Bible Science with “The Professor”
-- Games built on biblical principles, including "Who Am I?"
-- a game that teaches the children about biblical characters
-- Puppet ministry
-- A variety of object lessons that convey biblical truth on an appropriate level

Each session concludes with the children learning and singing both traditional hymns and contemporary worship songs.

We have an infant nursery for babies through 2 years old. Parents are encouraged to place their children in the care of our experienced nursery workers for the duration of the service so they can worship and learn without distraction. All of our volunteers are parents, grandparents, or trusted babysitters in our church. They are trusted attendees of Mountain View Chapel who we know and trust. All volunteers work on a team of at least two people at all times. The nursery workers are a team of people who LOVE babies and want to care for them in the best possible way. The equipment and toys in our nursery are safe, clean, and up-to-date.

Music Ministry

Our music ministry program provides a variety of ways to be involved in worship and to glorify God with voices and instruments, including, but not restricted to, Sunday morning worship team, special music for offertory, holiday presentations, and large ensemble. If you would like to be involved with this ministry please contact the church office.
